Humanized Version
Words, you know, they carry a lot of weight, a whole lot more than we sometimes give them credit for. They can build up, or they can, quite frankly, really tear down. There are some expressions, some terms we use, that over time have picked up a rather heavy load of meaning, making them, in some respects, quite difficult to handle. We're talking about words that might have started out one way, perhaps even with a neutral or clinical intention, but then, you see, they took a turn, picking up baggage along the way.
This idea of language shifting, it's actually pretty fascinating, isn't it? What was once thought of as perfectly acceptable, maybe even polite to say, can, in a relatively short span of time, become something we wouldn't dream of uttering.
